Here we see the lock body with the new lock barrel in place. It's a good idea to add a smear of grease to lubricate as you go.
The locking piece is added next followed by the...
Spring steel detente clip then...
the retaining plate is inserted and fixed in place with two M3 x 6mm screws. As you can see, the edge of the screw intrudes into the recess for the latchpiece so this needs to be ground away with a burr in a Dremel or a sinilar tool. At this stage, it is a very good idea to check that the lock works as expected.
Now we come to the reassmbly of the lock... as I said, this can be a bit of a chinese puzzle so here goes...
First hold the latch upside down and drop the lock body through the fork. The finger ledge on the body should be pointing downwards and the lugs on the body should engage in two grooves in the latch.
Still holding the latch upside down, take the back plate and slide it from the body side (right in the image) so that the two lugs on the ends of the fork engage in two channels on the top of the backplate. As you slide it towards the latch, the lugs on the backplate will engage in the housings in the lock body and the whole thing will fold flat
